Time Oil Co. was founded nearly 70 years ago as a gasoline station business. Over the years, as the Company acquired more gas stations, we opened up small convenience stores, under the name of Jackpot Food Mart, to provide our gasoline customers with food, snacks, and household items that they could pick up easily and quickly. In those early days, our convenience stores were largely secondary to our gasoline business. Today, both businesses - convenience stores co-located with gasoline stations - located across the four western states of Washington, Oregon, California, and Nevada - work well together when it comes to providing gasoline and convenience store products and services to motoring customers. Then as well as now, Time Oil Co. owns the property on which our gasoline and convenience stores sit.
With the vast number of changes in the marketplace during the past few years, Time Oil Co. leaders took a very hard look at our business model and redefined how we want to conduct business. In May of 2002, we reconstituted the Company and moved away from being a franchisor of our own convenience stores (as Jackpot Convenience Stores, Inc.) and from managing our own line of stores (Jackpot Food Mart, Co.) to being wholly committed to a lease operating model. Under the lease business model, Time Oil Co. leases our convenience store buildings to independent store operators. Along with the convenience stores, and at the same facility, Time Oil Co. sells branded gasoline, e.g., EXXON-Mobil, Chevron, Shell, Valero, and in a few select areas, we carry our own Time Oil brand of gasoline. These stores are located in over one-hundred neighborhoods in the western states in which we do business.
From the 1990's to the early years in the 21st Century, we upgraded and modernized many of our facilities. In the next couple of years, we plan a very concerted effort to upgrade, rebrand, or reimage our facilities. All of these locations are designed to be a place where you can do your "one-stop-shopping". Stop in and fuel up with gas and pick up some food, snacks, or a whole meal to take home, take on your trip, or just to enjoy between destinations. And, don't forget that many of our independent store operators carry other necessities, such as toiletries and household supplies, too.
Our goal continues to be providing to our customers a "fuel stop" and "convenient store location" that is "on your way to wherever you're headed".
Although we no longer operate our own stores, we have an experienced and talented staff of consultants and technicians in the field to work with and provide assistance and expertise to our store operators, helping them to provide clean facilities, friendly service, and in-store products to meet your needs.
